2013 Founder Becht aps
Designs the epic task “Rådhusesplanaden” in Umeå, to the city’s event as European Capital of Culture in 2015. The first year startet great by winning 9 first prizes in architect competitions. One example is the living area “Walbaldviertel” that is one of Cologne’s largest developing areas. The landscape project was also awarded 1 prize in 2016, with the prestigious German award “Viertel für Grün” .
2011 – 2013 Creative manager WSP Sverige
Interdisciplinary manager focusing on urban development and landscape. Peter Becht worked throughout the organization directly under CEO with an objective to implement architecture values in mayor prestige projects. He had responsibility for strategic planning, focusing on sustainable cities and regions. One example is the sustainable city project “Norra Djurgårdstaden” in Stockholm.
2009 Associate Professor in Landscape Architecture
Affiliated to the University of Copenhagen. For several years, Peter Becht, have been tutor and examiner for thesis project, responsible for courses, and lecturer internally and externally. For instance, he implemented and tutor the first Danish Industrial PhD in Landscape Architecture by Lene Lottrup, PhD; Outdoor Environment & Workplace.
2004 – 2009 Head of Landscape Arkitema
Peter Becht developed a planning and landscape department. As a leader, he had an overall strategic, technical, economic, organizational and personnel responsibility for about 40 employees in a number of years. He has been leading several rewarding and recognized projects. Most notaby is the Swim arena “Bellahøj Badet” in Copenhagen and cityscape project “Den Grønne Kødby ” in Vesterbro, wich was about to design the tallest building in Copenhagen.
1998 – 2004 Lecturer and Own company
Parallel to his employment Peter Becht win several architectural competitions. The public square center “Østervold” in Randers is one example, awarded with Randers Architecture Award in 2009. In addition Peter lecturer at the Landscape Architect education in Sweden, as course coordinator and head of second basis for students
1987 – 2004 Landscape Architect Vandkunsten
Peter Becht’s extensive experience comes from a wide range of projects by working 17 years at Vandkunsten Architects. It’s a portfolio of high quality. Most notably are the park surroundings in “Hestra Parkstad” in Borås , and the expressive look in “World Culture Museum” in Gothenburg, under management by Algren & Bruun, where Peter Becht was awarded the Swedish Architects “Utemiljöpris” in 2004, for the design of the landscape.
